Lingonberry Compote |

Wild Lingonberries,
also called mountain cranberries and partridgeberries, grow in remote
areas from southern Labrador to the Queen Charlotte Islands. They also
grow in Scandinavia where they are known as Lingonberries. They are
an absolutely spectacular fruit that many prefer to the regular cranberry.
Because they are sharp but not sour, our preserved mountain cranberries
can be used as a delicious spread on toast, as a condiment with chicken
or turkey. Some chefs combine it with mayonnaise for sandwiches, other
use it in a sauce for game and other meats.
