Admirable bolete
The admirable bolete, also known as the velvet top bolete, the bragger's bolete and aureoboletus mirabilis, is a prime edible bolete with a mild lemony flavour. It is a visually striking mushroom with a reddish, velvety cap and stem and a bright green pore surface. They are common in the hemlock forests of the Pacific Northwest, west of the Rockies. If you are looking for a flavour similar to porcini but milder yet still zesty, this is the mushroom for you.
