Juniper Berries
Dried blue/black Juniper berries foraged from the Canadian wilderness. Wild Juniper is a staple ingredient in many dishes and drinks and is the signature flavour of Gin. There are roughly 60 different types of Juniper. Most of what we carry is Juniperus communis and occasionally Juniperus virginiana.
Juniper grows abundantly in many places around the world and as such, has become popular with many different cuisines and pairs particularly well with game meats such as venison or moose as well as duck, rabbit, and pork dishes, juniper is also a key ingredient in many sauerkraut recipes.
We carry wild harvested Canadian juniper from multiple provinces, each with unique terroir and tasting attributes perfect for both commercial and hobby distillers.
